this is our first attempt at gardening. the wife received a beautifully designed (and handmade by the husband) planter box for christmas. sadly it took us four months to get it started. not the best decision considering the bulk of the growing season is over in our neck of the woods. but the plants have started to flower, we have some tiny green tomatoes, a few yellow squash babies and one single cucumber the size of a todler’s pinky finger. hopefully we’ll have a decent crop of fresh, homegrown produce before the summer heat kills everything.
